Hyderabad Customs seizes 240 drums of smuggled CIL oil

HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Hyderabad seized 240 drums of smuggled CIL oil worth Rs 16 million.

As per details, Customs Intelligence team following credible information intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. TLZ-973 and recovered 240 drums of oil worth Rs 16 million.

Officials asked the driver to produce documents regarding the legal import of the oil but he could not produce any such documents to prove the legal possession on which customs confiscated the smuggled item following the customs laws.

Customs Intelligence team comprising Superindent Ghulam Younas Khan, Deputy Superintendent Irfan Khan, Seizing officer Noor Muhammad Shah and others conducted the operation to foil the smuggling bid.
