Hyderabad Customs seizes contraband worth billions till May

HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) in efforts to curb smuggling has maintained its momentum and mad huge seizures of Iranian diesel and other goods.

During the period from July, 2014 to until today of current fiscal year, ASO team foiled numbers of smuggling bids in the regions following the instructions of Hyderabad’s Collector Ahmad Mujtaba Memon.

According to the details, anti smuggling organization impounded almost 73 non-duty paid vehicles including two Toyota Hilux, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Surf and others during said period.

ASO team confiscated Iranian origin 394,600 litres of high speed diesel, cloth, auto parts, cosmetics, grams, black tea and other items, besides seizing 1241 smuggled smart mobiles phones worth millions.

ASO team performance fiscal year 2014- may 2015 in Hyderabad worth of Rs.15 billion.

Chief Collector Nazim Saleem of Enforcement-South Karachi while visiting the Hyderabad appreciated the performance of the ASO Hyderabad, besides directing the ASO of Larkana and Sukkur to improve the performance.

Nazim also lauder the efforts of officers of Hyderabad ASO including Superintendent Nadeem Usmani, Deputy Superintendent Muhammah Ali Lohar, Deputy Superintendent Sikan Akabar Pahwar , Inspector khair Muhammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah and others.
