HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Hyderabad confiscated smuggled engines, generator, chemical, auto parts and other goods worth Rs 2 million in a recent operation.
According to the details, ASO Hyderabad Additional Collector Omer Shafique received credible information regarding smuggling of foreign origin generators and other items on which a raiding party was formed to foil the smuggling bid.
The riding team intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. Z-1455 near Jamshoro Toll Plaza in Hyderabad and recovered items. Driver was asked to produce the documents regarding the legal import, but he could not show any relevant documents.
However, the ASO team seized all items following the prevailing customs law, while the investigation is underway.
