ICCI President appreciates Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue for addressing industry concerns

ISLAMABAD: President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has appreciated the efforts of Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue Ms Ayesha Farooq and her team for their professional approach and commitment to addressing the issues of the business community in a constructive and amicable manner.

He said that such cooperation between tax authorities and the private sector is essential for promoting economic activity and ensuring a conducive business environment in the region.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue at the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Islamabad on Thursday while leading a delegation of the Islamabad Flour Mills Association.

The delegation included Patron-in-Chief of the Flour Mills Industry and Chairman ICCI Founder Group Sheikh Tariq Sadiq, ICCI Executive Member Sanaullah Durrani, former Senior Vice President Chaudhry Mukhtar, former Executive Member Dr. Muhammad Usman, along with other representatives of the flour milling sector.

Commissioner Income Tax Naveed Tareen, Additional Commissioner HQ  Shakil Anwar, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Osama Abbasi and RAFAQAT Hussian Warsi IRO,  were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Tahir Mehmood highlighted the challenges being faced by the flour mills sector in the region, stating that the industry plays a vital role in ensuring the steady supply of flour and supporting food security in the country.

He appreciated that the Chief Commissioner and her team listened to the concerns of the delegation with patience and assured full cooperation in resolving the genuine issues of the industry.

He expressed hope that such positive engagement would further strengthen confidence between the business community and the tax authorities, ultimately contributing to economic growth and stability.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood emphasized that ICCI will continue to play its proactive advocacy role by serving as an effective bridge between the public and private sectors.

He said that constructive dialogue and mutual understanding are key to developing business-friendly policies and promoting sustainable economic development.

On the occasion, Sheikh Tariq Sadiq, Patron-in-Chief of the Flour Mills Industry and Chairman of the Founder Group ICCI, along with Chaudhry Mukhtar, Sanaullah Khan Durrani, Dr Muhammad Usman, and other members of the delegation, also appreciated the cooperative attitude of the Chief Commissioner and her colleagues.

They expressed confidence that continued coordination with the tax authorities would help resolve industry-related issues and facilitate smoother business operations for the flour milling sector.
