IHC adjourns hearing of tax references filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal, ATIR

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of different tax references filed against the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) and the Customs Appellate Tribunal.

A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard three income tax and customs duty references, challenging the ATIR and Customs Appellate Tribunal’s decisions.

Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard a federal excise reference filed by M/s Punjab Oil Mills and an income tax reference filed by Fazal Ur Rehman. Hearing of both of these references was adjourned until second week of May.

Meanwhile, the bench also adjourned the hearing of a customs reference filed by Haidri Beverages (Private) Limited. This reference had been filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad, in which the appellant had challenged the tribunal’s decision before the IHC.
