ISLAMABAD: Two benches of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of four cases involving outstanding tax amounts to be recovered by the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard a couple of cases filed by LTU officer and Commissioner of Inland Revenue. The bench adjourned the hearing.
These cases had been filed against M/s Pak Saudi Fertilizer Limited and M/s Askari Commercial Bank Limited. The LTU had challenged the ATIR’s stay granted to the respondents in recovery cases of outstanding taxes.
Another bench of IHC comprising of Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb also adjourned hearing for second week of October.
These cases were filed by Mumtaz Construction Company Private Limited and M/s Noor Flour and General Mills filed against Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue and Additional Commissioner Inland Revenue making them as main respondents along with others.
