IHC adjourns hearing of tax reference filed by M/s WNS Field Pharmaceutical until September

ISLAMABAD: Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (LHC) adjourned the hearing of a tax reference filed by M/s WNS Field Pharmaceutical with directions to the parties to ensure appearance before the court on the next hearing.

A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case, challenging a notice issued to recover outstanding tax under the head of sales tax. The bench adjourned the hearing for September.

M/s WNS Field Pharmaceutical had filed the case seeking restrictions for Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad about recovering outstanding tax amount or making any other coercive move prior to court’s directions on the issue.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including  commissioner Inland Revenue and Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) were made respondent in the case.

M/s WNS Field Pharmaceutical submitted before the court that the impugned order was issued under malafide intentions and had no legal standing or authority and the court may decide on relief which it deemed appropriate in this regard.
