IHC adjourns hearing of tax references filed by FBR

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard several tax complaints during third week of October out of which hearing on most of the cases was adjourned to coming dates.

These cases were heard by the IHC single and division benches. Justice Aamer Farooq heard a tax reference challenging recovery of outstanding tax amount of Rs 6.954 million claimed by the field office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and adjourned he thearing for October 26.

M/S Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited had filed the tax reference against Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU), Islamabad. IHC bench comprising of Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case.

IHC single bench comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the case filed by Nokia Solution and Networks Pakistan Private Limited. The bench adjourned the proceedings for further arguments till next week.

Nokia Solution and Networks Pakistan Private Limited had challenged a tax recovery claim amounting to Rs3.643 million issued by field office of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

IHC Division Bench, comprising of judges, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard a complaint against Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue and officers of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Ch Muhammad Asif had filed the case through which the appellant had challenged an ATIR decision before the court carrying a announcement in favor of RTO regarding recovery of outstanding tax amount Rs 4,927,413 in head of income tax. Hearing of the complaint was adjourned till October 24.

IHC Division Bench comprising of Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard the references filed by M/s Bestway Cement Limited and M/s MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company.

M/s Bestway Cement Limited had filed the tax reference against Customs Appellate Tribunal. The appellant had challenged a decision announced by the tribunal before the IHC.

M/s MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company had filed the tax reference against the Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad. Ends/
