ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has disposed of a couple of references filed against the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR).

M/s Hems Corporation and M/s Mia Corporation (Private) Limited had filed the cases against ATIR, challenging its decisions pertaining to outstanding amounts under the heads of federal excise duty and income tax.

A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq heard the cases and disposed of with a direction to decide the fate of appeals pending before the tribunal in 60 days.

Meanwhile, the court also head a case against Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO). Syed Asad Qayyum had filed the case regarding his service reinstatement.  The court adjourned hearing of this case till April 13 after hearing arguments from sides.
