IHC division bench rejects customs reference due to non-prosecution

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed a customs reference filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal by M/s United Express.

A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard the case, challenging decision of CAT and dismissed it for non-prosecution.

The same bench also extended the stay while hearing an income tax matter challenging decision of ATIR. This reference was filed by M/s Ruby Jeweler. Another bench of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani adjourned hearing of five income tax cases filed by Jammu Kashmir Co-operative Housing Society and another which was filed by Muhammad Asif. Officers of LTU and RTO were also made respondents in the cases.
