IHC postpones hearing of four tax references until March 28

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of four tax references involving Customs Appellate Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR).

A division bench of the IHC, comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, heard an income tax reference, 75/2013, filed by M/s Aftab Traders and adjourned its hearing until March 28. This reference had challenged an ATIR decision about imposition of income tax which the appellant stated that was unlawful and in violation of law. The ATIR was made main respondent in the case.

Another Division Bench of IHC, comprising of Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb adjourned hearing of three tax references filed by M/s Shalimar Diplomatic Bonded Warehouse, Islamabad.

The appellant had challenged decision of Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad. The court adjourned hearing of these cases till first last week of March.
