IHC reserves verdict on matter involving Collectorate of Customs

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) as reserved a decision on a customs matter involving M/s Aftab Traders and Collectorate of Customs.  The IHC bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah heard the matter and reserved the decision after hearing arguments from parties.

Collector Customs had filed the case against M/s Aftab Traders.  The bench also issued directives for submission of record while hearing a petition filed by M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited.

M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had filed the reference in which the company had challenged a show cause notice issued by the Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad.  M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had contested show cause notices issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue.

According to details, M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had challenged recovery of issued to it in head of outstanding sales tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

M/s Pak Telecom Mobile Limited had submitted that the department had issued the demand notice for the tax year 2010 in head of sales tax.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including commissioner Inland Revenue, commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) were made respondent in the case.
