IHC to take up four tax cases on Monday

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear four tax matters, challenging the decisions of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR), on Monday.

A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb will hear five tax references based on federal excise duty and sales tax.

M/s CMPak Limited had filed the federal excise duty reference in which it had challenged a decision pronounced by ATIR. Sales tax reference, which was filed by Islamabad Electric Supply Corporation (IESCO). IESCO had too sought relief against an ATIR decision.

The bench would also hear an income tax matter which is filed by Gabor Nagi against the ATIR.

A single bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq will hear an appeal by FBR’s IR commissioner against ATIR.
