KARACHI: Importers may face heavy losses due to a shortage of gas, Customs Today has learnt.
The government may stop gas supply to textile industry from December 15 to the end of January 2015. The importers said that 70% textile industry would be closed due to the decision taken by the government and Pakistan would face a loss of Rs 2.5 billion. The Sui Northern Gas Company will increase gas supply up to 1.8 billion cubic feet per day to overcome demand which surges in winter.
