UP: Ninety carton of smuggled liquor, worth Rs 5 lakh,seized from separate places here, an excise department official said today.
The excise team, comprising inspectors Himmat Singh and Avdhash Mishra, last evening seized 46 cartons of liquor close to a schoolbuilding near Mimlana locality, District Excise Officer Karunendra Singh said.
In a separate raid, 44 cartons of liquor were seized near Bahmanheri bridge here, he said, adding that a case has been registered against unidentified persons who fled the spot leaving the consignment behind.
The liquor was smuggled from Haryana for supplying in the district, the Excise Officer added.
