KARACHI: An Investigation Officer Aijaz Ali Khoso has submitted interim challan before Customs Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi against the accused persons namely Manthar Ali, Mazhar Ali Magasi and Shah Muhammad Khan Bazai who were booked in a case of smuggled/ non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser Cygnus V8 jeep Model 2003 and evasion of duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 11,127,507.

According to the interim challan, officials intercepted a tampered/smuggled/ non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser bearing registration no BF-1318 model 2003 worth Rs 4,203,250 which was parked at Zam Zama Street no 4 DHA, Phase V, Karachi.

The investigation officer informed the court that Manthar Ali and Mazhar Ali Magasi are on bail. However another accused Shah Muhammad Khan Bazai is still absconder and the Customs Department is still trying to arrest him.

A case was registered against the accused under section 2 (s) and 178 of Customs Act, 1969 punishable under clauses (8) & (89) of section 156 (i) ibid.
