IR directed to complete promotion process of BS 1-15 officials in 9 months

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed Inland Revenue offices to complete the process of promotion of officials from BS-1-15 against the vacant positions within one month.

In a circular issued on Friday, the FBR directed all chief commissioners of Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) and Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs) and all directors general of Inland Revenue Service, that promotions of officials from BS 01-15 against the vacant positions exclusively meant for promotion quota under the rules should be completed within next thirty (30) days.

The FBR said that reminder for missing Performance Evaluation Reports (PERs) should be issued immediately and the process should be completed within 15 days of the receipt of the letter so that no official is deprived of his due right of promotion due to missing PERs.

All the promotions should be made strictly on merit and in a transparent manner in accordance with the relevant rules/procedures and progress report should be intimated to the board.
