IR Tribunal directed to settle Minawa Construction’s plea in 45 days

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) to decide M/s Minawa Construction’s application within 45 days.

The Minawa Construction had challenged the claim of the Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) to pay Rs 5.4 million outstanding tax for the year 2011.

A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farroq heard the case and disposed it of, restraining the LTU from recovering the said amount from the company.

The Minawa Construction had filed the petition, challenging LTU order issued in July 2015 under provisions of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), LTU chief commissioner, Inland Revenue (IR) commissioner and IR-Audit commissioner were made party in the case.
