Iran’s gas condensate, commodities exports hit $28b

TEHRAN: Iran’s deputy minister of industry, mine and trade has announced that the country’s exports of gas condensate and commodities have risen to over 28 billion dollars during the first eight months of the Iranian calendar year starting on March 20, 2016. Mojtaba Khosrotaj told IRNA Saturday evening that the figure shows 5.7 percent increase in the mentioned period compared to that of the preceding year.

In addition, he said, the country exported machine-woven carpets and moquette and hand-made carpets that were worth about 170 and 166 million dollars respectively during the first seven months of the year.

Khosrotaj, who is also the president of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, announced that medical equipment and medicine which were worth about 103 million dollars have been exported from the country during the said period, adding the figure indicates 50 percent increase when was compared to the previous year. Khosrotaj has travelled to Shahr-e Kord to attend a ceremony on hailing the exemplary exporters here. According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the value of the non-oil products that the country has exported in the last year has been 42.4 billion dollars, about seven billions of which has been the gas condensates’ share. Iran has targeted 50 billion dollars’ worth for its gas condensate’s and commodities exports in the current year.
