DUBLIN: Three men were arrested in connection with a €126,000 drug seizure yesterday afternoon.
Gardai from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit assisted by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau stopped and searched two cars in Co Cork shortly before 2pm.
Cannabis resin with an estimated value of €126,000 was recovered following the search at Skehanagh in Watergrasshill.
Two of the men arrested, aged 41 years and 51 years respectively, were charged in connection with this investigation.
They were released from custody and are due to appear before Cork District Court next Wednesday morning.
The third man (59) was released from Garda custody without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
A fourth man (30) was also arrested in north Dublin and detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking), Act 1996.
He has since been released from custody without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Part of the €126,000 cannabis seizure was discovered in a follow up search of a premises in Gurranabraher, Cork City.
