KARACHI: Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) has asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend date for filing of monthly statement for the month of February as according to KTBA members Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) e-filing software is not working since Feb 12.

In a letter addressed to chairman FBR, Tariq Mahmood Pasha, KTBA said that many of KTBA members are constantly in touch informing that they are facing severe problems in e-filing the monthly statements for the month of January 2018 under section 165 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, which are due today i.e. 15th February, 2018, due to non-working of the IRIS since February 12.

They are very upset because of this as they are not even in a position to apply for extension of the same today on IRIS. In view of the above we request you to extend the date of e-filing the monthly statements under section 165 for the month of January 2018 at least up 26th February, 2018 as a gesture of goodwill and to facilitate our members and the compliant taxpayers to full fill their legal obligation properly.

“We request you to extend the date of e-filing the monthly statements under section 165 for the month of January 2018 at least up 26th February, 2018 as a gesture of goodwill and to facilitate our members and the compliant taxpayers to full fill their legal obligation properly,” said KTBA President Abdul Aziz Tayabani.
