Ishaq Dar reviews arrangements for Urs congregation of Daata Ganj Bakhsh

LAHORE: Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Saturday chaired a meeting of Religious Purpose Committee of Daata Darbar to review arrangements of the 972nd Urs congregation of Hazrat Daata sahib.

He impressed upon all officials of the Auqaf Department, provincial police, local administration and the Daata Darbar management to ensure quality arrangements for all the events including the national Naat, Quran and Qawali recitals, inauguration of milk sabeel and distribution of langar.

The Minister emphasised that fool proof security arrangements be made for the Urs which will be held from 18 to 20 Safar. He said there could be no compromise on security of pilgrims who would throng the Darbar from all over the country as well as from abroad. More than 500 known ulema and mashaikh would attend the Urs including the Sajjadgan of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia and Hazrat Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, the meeting was informed.

The Minister on this occasion highly appreciated the arrangements made by the local administration, Auqaf Department and the Darbar management for “Ghusal Sahrif” during Moharram. He hoped that all the officials would put in their best to make this year’s Urs celebrations a great success.

Provincial Food Minister Bilal Yaseen, MNA Pervaiz Malik, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Tariq Pasha, Secretary Auqaf Nayyer Iqbal, Director General Auqaf Tahir Raza Bokhari, DIG Operations, Lahore and other senior officials attended the meeting.
