Islamabad AFU generates Rs517.26m as All Duties and Taxes during 25 days of August

ISLAMABAD: The Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad earned Rs517.26million of All Duties and Taxes during initial 25 days of August Financial Year FY2017-18.

According to details explained by Shahid Jan, Deputy Collector AFU, that the performance of the AFU is very impressive regarding the imports. Most of the imported consignments comprise telecommunication sectors which are providing handsome amount under all the heads including Customs Duty.
He said that, during above said period, the AFU collected Rs136.79million of Customs Duty (CD) while it did Rs261.84million as Sales Tax (ST) and the AFU generated Rs137.64million of Income Tax (IT).
Shahid Jan told Customs Today that on a single day as 25th of August FY17-18 the AFU Islamabad received Rs5.94million of CD whereas it did Rs8.99million as ST and the AFU got Rs4.10million as IT.
