Islamabad AFU receives Rs240.31m of all duty & taxes during 13 days of FY July 2017-18

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad collected Rs240.31million of All Duty and Taxes during the initial 13 days of current month of July Financial Year FY2017-18. The AFU earned Rs8.55million of all taxes in a day (Thursday) 13th July FY17-18.

According to details told by Deputy Collector Shahid Jan while talking to Customs Today, he said that in the beginning of new Financial Year July 2017-18, the performance of the AFU has been satisfactory. During the initial 13 days, the AFU generated Rs88.42million of Customs Duty whereas the AFU did Rs101.57million of Sales Tax. And the AFU received Rs50.32million of Income Tax (IT) during the 1st to 13th of July FY17-18.
The Deputy Collector told CT that on Thursday (13th of July FY17-18), the AFU got Rs2.67million of CD while it did Rs3.24million of ST. And the AFU earned Rs2.64million of IT during a day.
He told CT that during 13 days of June 2016-17, the AFU collected Rs89million of Customs Duty (CD) whereas it did Rs118million of Sales Tax (ST). And the AFU generated Rs65million of Withholding Tax (WHT).
He said the AFU did not provide the assigned target for July FY2017-18, and the revenue target for the year 2017-18 was also not given for Financial Year 2017-18. The target will be allocated before ending of the current month of July FY17-18.
