Islamabad Auction Cell fetches Rs9.485m thru public sale of impounded vehicles & items

ISLAMABAD: The Auction Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad earned Rs9.485million through a public auction of NDP vehicles and seized smuggled goods while 15 lots were rejected out of the total 30 ones.

According to details explained by Assistant Collector, Auction Cell, Islamabad that 18 Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles and 12 lots of various seized smuggled goods were pepared for auction held here at the State Ware House (SWH) Islamabad on 12th of April FY17-18. The people from Islamabad and Rawalpindi participated in the auction in collaboration with the government’s authorized Alvi Auctioneers.
About 12 lots of confiscated goods comprise generator, assorted designs of wallpapers, filaments yarns, ceramic tiles, groundnuts, tyres and tubes, vacuum cleaners, digital satellite recovers, foreign origin black tea, LED TVs, assorted ladies fabrics and welding electrodes. He added that total of 11 lots out of 13 lots were auctioned priced at Rs5.585million including Rs0.50million of Income Tax while two lots were rejected.
Assistant Collector told CT that 18 vehicles, comprising Prime Mover Kenworth, Specialized Oliwell Drilling pump truck, Skid Bach mixer, Honda motorcycle, Toyota Land Cruiser, Ford wagon, Honda Accord car, Mazda car, Honda CRV, Honda Inspired car, Toyota Passo car, Toyota Hilux D-cabin and Toyota Hilux Vigo Pickup 03 numbers were set for auction. He informed the correspondent that five out of 18 lots vehicles were auctioned off at priced Rs3.90million including Rs0.35million of Sales Tax while 13 vehicles were rejected.
