Islamabad Auction Cell generates Rs49.7m income on June 8, 2016-17

ISLAMABAD: The Auction Cell of Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad earned Rs49.7million by holding of public auction of various kinds of confiscated goods and impounding Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) offending (vehicles used for carrying smuggled goods) vehicles on June 8 of Financial Year 2016-17. The auction was held at State Warehouse G-11 Islamabad.

According to Majid Hussain Gaad, Assistant Collector Customs Auction Cell Islamabad, that the Auction Cell auctioned off impounded vehicles and goods of various kinds. The Collector Islamabad appreciated the Auction Cell for holding a well organized auction which fetched a handsome amount.
The auction was organized by Alvi Auctioneers along with customs staff of the MCC Islamabad under the supervision of Assistant Collector Auction. The bidders had deposited 25% out of total worth of the lots they purchased through auction.

The auction cell collected Rs32.12million through selling of confiscated goods whereas the Auction Cell earned Rs11.00million through auction of impounded vehicles. About 10% taxes were excluded in above said amount separately mentioned for goods and vehicles.
He said the vehicles auctioned comprised Honda car-1990, Mercedes Benz car (02 door) 2004 model, Toyota Hiace Van 2004 model (14 Seater), Toyota Crown Royal Saloon car 2001 model, Toyota Straight Car-1981 St. Wagon, Toyota Mark X car 2005 and Toyota Passo car-2007.

The goods sold in auction comprised assorted brands & K.V generators, LED TVs, asphalt mixers (old and used), old and used moulded case circuit breakers, old and used electrical drill machines, electric wood planners, electric disc grinders, industrial blowers, butterfly valves and many other items.
