Islamabad Customs Appellate Tribunal hears 141 cases in 2015

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Appellate Tribunal has heard 141 cases during 2015, it is learned.

According to official records of the tribunal, these cases were heard by two benches, Bench-I and Bench-II, of the tribunal maintaining operations at Islamabad office.

As compared to year 2014, the tribunal had heard greater number of cases in 2015. In 2014, the tribunal heard 74 cases only, while in 2015 the tribunal heard 141 cases. Thereby, the tribunal has heard around 52 percent higher number of cases in 2015 as compared to 2014.

Similarly, number of cases heard in 2015 were also higher than 2013. In 2013, the tribunal heard only 104 cases, which were 26 percent less than the year 2015.

These cases included all types of cases at tribunal either filed by the tax department of other petitioners.
