Following a tip-off, Customs Intelligence Additional Director Nisar Ahmad constituted a team to fail the smuggling attempt of illegal drugs. The additional director was also informed that the drugs would be transferred from Karachi to Layyah via Dera Ghazi Khan.

The team of DG Khan field investigation unit intercepted a suspicious vehicle and recovered prohibited drugs while checking it. As the driver could not justify the possession of huge amount of generic drugs; therefore the officials seized the items. Further investigations are underway to find the prime suspect in the case.

It may mention here that an attempt to smuggle the prohibited drugs into Punjab was also broke down and a big consignment of Indian-made generic drugs worth millions of rupees had been seized in 2015.
