Islamabad Customs assigned Rs 1,145m target for October 2016-17

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) has been assigned a revenue target of Rs 1,145  million for October 2016-17.

According to Collector Dr Arslan Subutgeen, the department will do all efforts to achieve its target during the said period.  He added that the Collectorate would use administrative measures to achieve the target. He said that the customs collectorate had already assigned targets to all of its departments, including AFU, Islamabad Dry port, Preventive and IMO.

Dr Arslan said that the department has given target for customs duty amounting of Rs407 million, Sales tax as Rs370 million, Federal Excise duty as Rs129 million and assigned target for withholding tax is Rs239 million.

Collector said that the department will utilize all efforts to meet the set target of October 2016-17 including collection through anti-smuggling, Car cell and auctions.

He said that during July, 2016 to September, 2016 Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad collected Rs1120 million customs duties against the assigned target of Rs1119 million. The Collectorate also collected Rs1130 million as sales tax against the target of Rs1017 million.

The withholding tax collection of the Collectorate remained Rs594 against the target of Rs633 million, overall revenue collection of the Collectorate during 1st Quarter of FY 2016-17 was Rs2916 million against the assigned target of Rs2829 million.
