Islamabad Customs recovers 60kg pork from two Chinese passengers

ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad has seized 60 kilogram pork from two passengers coming from China at Benazir International Airport.

Customs Collector Dr Arslan Subuctageen said that the Custom staff was checking  passengers at international exit point and the staff found pork in fancy packing under different packets. The staff seized the pork but set free both Chinese women passengers, the collector said.

Additional Collector Khawaja Khurram Naeem informed Customs Today that pork is not allowed to bring in Pakistan. It is very rare chance that some passengers tried to bring it into Pakistan. Naeem said that the Customs staff is efficient and is ready to foil any attempt to bring pork into Pakistan.

Additional Collector said that it is a routine to burn the seized pork at the nearest point of airport in presence of the Customs officials. An food expert told Customs Today that pork is not allowed in Pakistan.
