Islamabad High Court adjourns hearing of two tax references till April

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of two tax references filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR)

The bench comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard the cases and adjourned the hearing till the third week pf April.

M/s Punjab Oil Mills had filed the federal excise duty reference before the IHC against ATIR. The appellant had challenged an ATIR decision through the reference. Faisal Hayat had challenged a decision given by the Customs Appellate Tribunal making it a respondent before the IHC.

Meanwhile, the court also heard cases filed by LTU, Islamabad’s commissioner inland revenue, against M/s Haidri Beverages Private Limited and another cases which was filed by M/s Mushtaq Ahmed son of Nazir Ahmed against ATIR, and by Safdar Hayat against Custom Appellate Tribunal. Hearing of these case was also adjourned to different dates in April.
