SAN JUAN: The Jamaica Promotions Corporation began the second phase of an initiative that was launched in 2009 with the aim of boosting the Caribbean nation’s exports.

“No one can succeed without a plan; we believe that the coordinated effort of a National Export Strategy is crucial to developing a market-driven and globally competitive export sector,” JAMPRO President Diane Edwards said in a statement.

The second phase consists of 195 targeted strategies and activities to be executed over the next four years by 35 agencies across five priority sectors and five cross-cutting areas.

The priority sectors are: agroprocessing and agribusiness; film and animation; mining; information technology enabled services; and light manufacturing.
