Jhang ASO seizes non-duty paid coaster during road checking

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Jhang has confiscated a smuggled coaster bearing registration no JF- 7950 (Sindh), model 1993 during routine checking involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 800,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector ASO Rizwan Khan received information about non-duty paid vehicles which are plying on roads. He constituted a team comprising Saeed Akhtar Joiya (superintendent), Munir Ahmad, Shoukat Khan, Khalid Noor (inspectors), Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ajmal Khan and Ahmad Bukhsh (sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted the vehicle near Toll Plaza Multan Road Jhang and asked owner of the vehicle who was identified as Muhammad Azeem son of  Muhammad Amjad to produce legal documents regarding possession of the vehicle but he failed to produce any relevant documents.  ASO team seized the vehicle and forward the case to Customs Adjudication for further action.

It is necessary to mention here that ASO authorities are taking effective measures to control smuggling.
