Jhang ASO seizes non-duty paid Rani juice from Gojra Road

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Jhang has seized 4,776 bottles of foreign origin Rani juice packed in 47 cartons. The expiry date of the seized juice is September 2017 while market value of the juice is Rs 288,180.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizawn directed Anti-Smuggling Organization about the smuggling of Rani juice. After receiving this information, Deputy Collector immediately constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Munir Ahmed, Shiukat Khan, Ghulam Abbas (driver), Muhammad Ali, and Muhammad Ajmal (sepoys),

The ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no. P-9694 near Gojra Road Jhang. During thorough checking of the vehicle ASO team impounded 2328 bottles of Rani juice 47cartons ). The Rani juice and coated coconut bar chocolate were being transported from Karachi to Chiniot.

The ASO team asked driver Abdul Ghafar son of Rehmatullah and Shakeel Ahmed son of Khushi Muhammad (owner) to provide legal documents regarding possession of juice, but he failed to produce the same. After their failure ASO team seized the juice and registered a case against the accused persons.
