ISLAMABAD: JP Construction Company, which is based in Lahore, has challenged the Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) decision in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
According to details, the company filed the case against secretary Revenue Division, the FBR chairman, the Ministry of Commerce, Directorate General Post Clearance Audit Islamabad, chief collector Lahore, collector Appraisement Lahore and senior manager National Logistics Cell.
Sources told Customs Today that owner of the company Fahad Jabbar prayed to court that his company is engaged in business and have to import some machinery from abroad. He said that his company is already registered under the Sales Tax Act and ordinance. The owner said that he is also active member of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). He informed the court that his company imported 12 consignments of prime movers and paid all duties and taxes according to the Import Policy of 2013.
He said that on June 17, 2016 chief collector customs Lahore restricted the consignments from clearance without any solid reason. He prayed the court that his consignments should be released without any delay.
It is also necessary to mention here that lot of construction companies have expressed their displeasure due to this act.
