ISLAMABAD: Kaleem-ud-Din, an Inland Revenue officer of BS-18, has been dismissed over inefficiency, misconduct and corruption.
As per details, a proceeding was initiated against the officer in terms of Rules 3(a),(b) and (c) of the Government Servants (E&D) Rules, 1973 after charge sheet and statement of allegations were issued against him. Farooq Azam Memon, Commissioner (OPS), Regional Tax Office, Hyderabad was assigned duty to probe into the case. The Inquiry Officer submitted his inquiry report dated May 21 with the conclusion that the said charges stand proved against the accused officer.
The Secretary Revenue Division/Chairman FBR examined the relevant record, gone through the defence of the accused officer including his written reply and also heard his stance during the personal hearing and was convinced that the charges of “inefficiency”, “misconduct” & “corruption” stand established against the accused officer beyond doubt.
The accused officer failed to perform his duty in professional and transparent manner and acted in a manner which is totally unbecoming of an officer. His acts of omission and commission caused loss of revenue to the government exchequer.
The Secretary Revenue Division/Chairman FBR, being Authority in the case, imposed the major penalty of “Dismissal from Service” under sub clause (iv) of clause (b) of sub rule (1) of Rule 4 of Government Servants (E&D) Rules, 1973 upon Kaleem-ud-Din with immediate effect.
However, Kaleem-ud-Din will have right to appeal to the Appellate Authority under Civil Servants (Appeal) Rules, 1977 within a period of 30 days from the date of communication of this notification.
