Karachi Port, Romania’s Constanța Port ink cooperation accord

KARACHI: A historic cooperation agreement has been signed between Karachi Port Trust and Romania’s Port of Constanța, marking a significant step forward in bilateral maritime and trade relations.

According to officials, the agreement is expected to open a new chapter in economic and shipping ties between Pakistan and Romania. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been formally signed between the two ports.

Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate in key areas including port operations, engineering, information exchange and technology transfer. The partnership is also expected to enhance Pakistan’s access to European markets.

Romania’s ambassador stated that the agreement would enable Karachi Port Trust to gain direct access to advanced European technologies, strengthening operational capacity and efficiency.

Officials believe the move will not only boost maritime cooperation but also facilitate increased trade volumes between the two countries.
