KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Pakistan Steel Mill are the defaulters of the property tax being collected by the Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh government for the last couple of years, it is learnt.
“The dues worth millions of rupees are pending against the Chamber of Commerce situated at BVI (4) 4 and Steel Mill situated at Bin Qasim Town since the last one decade”, Director Excise and Taxation Shabir Shaikh told Customs Today.
He said that M/s Chamber of Commerce had to clear its outstanding dues of property tax worth Rs 3,534,570 and M/s Steel Mill Rs 1,363,140,622.
“A committee has been established for the early recovery of the property tax pending to the above mentioned institutions”, the director added
