Multan Customs seizes ceramic tiles worth Rs 3.2 million

MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Region have captured huge quantity of smuggled ceramic tiles during an action.

The smuggled ceramic tiles were loaded on the Mazda truck. The loaded smuggled ceramic tiles were coming from Baluchistan and tiles were Iran origin.  he movement of smuggled ceramic tiles were detected through intelligence from the hidden routes of the Koh-e-Suleman.

Following the directions of Additional Director Customs Intelligence, Investigation Multan Range conducted the operation against the smuggled tiles. The operation was performed with the assistance of Dera Ghazi Khan Customs Intelligence and Investigation unit.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range have already deployed staff on the route which was being used for smuggling. The Customs authorities seized the tiles through successful operation. Owner of the smuggled ceramic tiles failed to provide any import document to customs staff for evidence. Superintendent Ali Khan , Inspector Arshad, Saleem Afzal and Zulfiqar were participated in crackdown against the smuggled goods.

Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office Nisar Ahmad told Customs Today that almost 2200 square meter Iran Origin ceramic tile were seized during the operation along with the Mazda truck.

The total values of the seized ceramic tile during action were almost Rs.3.2 million. The Customs duties of the seized ceramic tiles were almost Rs.2.4 million.

An advance information report has been lodged against the smuggled goods after seizing .Further investigations were under process against smuggled goods.
