NAIROBI: Kenya expects to catch up with revenue shortfalls in the 2015/2016 fiscal year and will be hiring consultants to boost collection of taxes, the finance minister said on Thursday.
“We are planning to engage consulting firm to help in identifying key weaknesses in these areas, especially in the customs, with a strategy to conclusively deal with challenges in these areas,” Finance Minister Henry Rotich said. Rotich added that the government was evaluating Kenya’s 2015/2016 budget to ensure only essential spending was taking place.
