Khushab Customs I&I impounds non duty paid Hino truck

KHUSHAB: The Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded a foreign origin non customs paid Hino truck.

Sources told Customs Today, that FIU team intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration no: TKB-502 Sibi which was coming from outside of the city.

The value of the smuggled Hino truck is Rs 5 million. Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Saad Iqbal, Sepoy Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi, Asad Iqbal and Muhammad Khalil car during the operation.

Customs staff asked driver Shakeel Ahmed to produce documentary evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession of the vehicle. But he could not produce any documents relating to its legal import or lawful on which customs impounded the vehicle under the prevailing customs law.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Khushab have impounded the Hino truck under Section 157 (2) of the Customs Act 1969B as after a consider able passage of time no one appeared before the seizing agency to claim ownership of seized vehicle as well as no proof of its legal import and lawful possession was produced. A seizure report has been lodged after the seizing smuggled Hino truck.
