Kohat Customs Station earns Rs51.73 million through auctions

KOHAT: Kohat customs station earned Rs51.73 million under heads of all duty and taxes through auction of non duty paid vehicles, and smuggled goods during current financial (July to April) year 2016-17.

According to details, the auction cell conducted 6 auctions of seized goods during current financial year adding that the first auction was held during the month of October 2016-17 whereas it collected Rs11.51 million under head of customs duty (CD), Rs2.31 million sales tax (ST), Rs1.30 million additional income tax (AIT) adding that the Kohat auction cell earned total revenue by first auction Rs15.22 under heads of all duty taxes and surcharges.

The sources said that the Auction cell collected Rs2.40 million under head of all duty taxes and surcharges during the month of November FY2016-17 adding that the Kohat auction cell earned Rs.2.40 million through third auction.

The sources stated that the auction cell Kohat collected Rs14.17 million under head of all duty taxes through fourth auction of smuggled goods which was conducted during the month of January FY2016-17 adding that the auction cell earned Rs.4.62 million under head of all duty taxes and surcharges by 5th auction held during month of February FY16-17, the sources said that the auction cell collected Rs13.93 million under head of all duty taxes and surcharges, the Kohat auction cell collected Rs1.39 million by auction which was held in month of March FY2016-17 under head of all duty and taxes adding that it was 6th and last auction during first 10 months of current financial year (July to April) 2016-17.
