KP NAB nabs contractor, official for Rs57m embezzlement

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Wednesday arrested Contractor Muhammad Aimal Khan S/o former MNA Muzafar-ul-Mulk and Sub-Engineer of Pak PWD Batkhela Swat, Nisar Aziz for their alleged involvement in Rs57 million embezzlement.

They are involved in substandard and ghost developmental projects in NA-29 Mingora Swat and caused colossal loss to public exchequer. As per details, Pak PWD Batkhela Division awarded various developmental schemes to Muhammad Aimal Khan owner of M/s National Builders and all these schemes were shown executed as per record, wherein grave illegalities i.e. ghost and substandard schemes were identified during course of investigation.

Accused Nisar Aziz recorded fictitious measurements, ghost and unexecuted or partially executed schemes and signed bogus entries in Measurement Books on the basis of which payments have been made to the Contractor.

Further investigation is being actively pursued by NAB and more facts are on card. The accused persons will be produced before Accountability Court, Peshawar for obtaining their physical remand.
