KARACHI: Started with positive note, the Karachi Stock Exchange lost 51.13 points till midday to drop to 32589.96 level on Wednesday.
The market recorded the highest trading level of 32706.10 points and lowest level of 32578.43 points, with the volume of 27,966,180 shares, having more than Rs2.8 billion value. As many as 256 companies were active; of which 88 advanced, 147 declined and 21 remained unchanged.
Technology & communication remained the highest traded sector with total volume of 21,942,000 shares, while commercial banks remained second traded sector with a total volume of 12,994,000 shares.
The three top traded companies were Habib Bank with a volume of 5,444,100 and price per share of 201 (1.85), Sui North Gas with a volume 3,438,000 of price per share of 25.15 (-0.89), and Pak Elektron with a volume 2,653,500 of price per share of 66.90 (-0.03).
The top three gainers were Nestle Pak with price per share 7400 (50), Highnoon (Lab) with price per share of 570 (21.90) and Shifa Int.Hosp with price per share of 339.88 (12.97).
The top three losers were Siemens Pak with price per share of 886.04 (-46.63), AKD CapitalXD with price per share of 366 (-19) and Noon Pakistan per share of 295.40 (-15.54).
Earlier, the stocks opened with positive note, gaining 31.24 points to reach 32672.33 level, with the volume of 6,252,090 shares.
On Tuesday, bear-run continued at the stock market as the benchmark KSE 100-share index lost 17.88 points to close at 32641.09 points. Total volume decreased by 13% to 78m shares, compared to 90b shares of Monday while traded value also decreased by 15% to Rs5.8b. Out of total 325 traded companies in the session, 130 finished in advance, 170 in decline while 25 went unchanged.
