KSE bids to recoup losses, gains 79pts till midday

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange regained the overnight losses as benchmark 100-index gained 78.99 points to reach 34305.11 level, with the total volume of 31,929,960 shares till midday.

Out of total 272 companies, 146 remained up, 110 down and 16 were unchanged. Power generation & distribution was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 8,986,500 shares. It was followed by oil & gas marketing companies with a total traded volume of 5,452,350 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Ltd. with a volume of 7,604,500 and price per share of 7.72 (0.06), Byco Petroleum with a volume 3,284,500 of price per share of 24.81 (0.62), Sui South Gas with a volume 3,122,500 of price per share of 38.40 (0.60).

The top three advancers were Philip Morris Pak. with price per share 1598.62 (76.12), Atlas Honda Ltd with price per share of 395.05 (18.81) and Shifa Int.HospXD share of 304.99 (12.49).

The top three decliners were Unilever Foods with price per share of 6764.00 (-356.00), Colgate PalmoXD with price per share of 1482.05 (-77.95) and Sapphire FiberXD per share of 792.00 (-41.30).

On Monday, the KSE-100 index lost 35.49 points to close at 34,226.12 points as compared to 34,261.61 of the previous session. The KSE-30 Index added 15.25 points and closed at 20,432.64 points against 20,417.39 points of the last closing.
