KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange Thursday continued bearish trend and up by 0.61 per cent, adding another 202.89 points to reach 33223.15 points level till midday.
The market recorded the highest trading level of 33240.68 points and lowest level of 33020.26 points, with the volume of 51,483,590 shares, having Rs3.7 billion value. As many as 277 companies were active; of which 172 advanced, 95 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
Oil & gas marketing companies remained the highest traded sector with total volume of 16,400,250 shares, while chemical remained second traded sector with a total volume of 13,461,900 shares.
The three top traded companies were Sui North Gas with a volume of 8,208,500 and price per share of 31.08 (0.96), Sui South Gas with a volume 7,465,000 of price per share of 44.20 (0.72), Lotte Chemical with a volume 6,971,500 of price per share of 6.91 (0.12).
The top three gainers were Bata (Pak) XD with price per share 3306.50 (156.50), Ferozsons (Lab) with price per share of 1129 (49.13) and Exide (PAK) with price per share of 878.85 (41.85).
The top three losers were Island Textile with price per share of 670 (-33), AL-Ghazi Trac. XD with price per share of 424 (-7) and Service Ind.LtdXD per share of 865 (-7).
Earlier, the stocks opened keeping positive note as Karachi Stock Exchange gained 107.46 points to reach 33127.72 level, with volume of 29,482,850 shares.
On Wednesday, the benchmark KSE 100-index added 228.55 points to close at 33,020.26 points.
