KSE keeps positive momentum, gains 102pts till midday

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange maintained the positive momentum of early trading and gained 102.13 points to take the tally to 35994.90 points level till midday on Thursday.

The stock saw maximum trading level at 36052.62 points and minimum level at 35890.83 points, while the total volume remained 77,107,220 shares, having Rs3,794,914,928 value.

Earlier, despite yesterday’s massive fall over poetical turmoil, the Karachi stocks started with positive note as KSE-100 index gained 65.26 points in early trading.

On Wednesday, KSE-100 index suffered a sharp fall of 313.17 points (0.86 per cent) to close at 35,892.77. The investors were confused by the developments on the political front as members of a leading political party (MQM) tendered their resignations from the Sindh Assembly and the two houses of the parliament.

The index opened in the positive and rose to intra-day gains of 104 points before it succumbed to all round selling pressure. Volume of shares traded increased to 360 million of Rs13.5 billion value.
