KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange maintained the upward momentum of early trading and gained 53.81 points to reach 33154.15 points level till midday on Tuesday.
The stock reached the highest trading level of 33463.64 points level, adding 359 points in early trading, however, the 100-index dropped to 32882.75 level, shedding 206 points. The total market volume remained 125,769,180 shares with the value of Rs7,532,111,810.
Earlier, the KSE took a good start and added 57.49 points to reach 33157.83 points level despite record fall on previous day.
On Monday, the stocks collapsed as the global meltdown over China’s yuan devaluation along with tumbling oil prices sank the Karachi bourse deeper into crisis with index dipping to almost 5%.
The KSE-100 index lost 1,419.43 points to close at 33,100.34 points as compared to 34519.77 of the previous session. The KSE-30 Index shed 949.94 points and closed at 20158.25 points against 21108.19 points of the last closing.
