KARACHI: The stocks Thursday opened keeping positive note as Karachi Stock Exchange gained 107.46 points to reach 33127.72 level, with volume of 29,482,850 shares in early trading.
On Wednesday, the benchmark KSE 100-index added 228.55 points to close at 33,020.26 points. Weakness in international commodity prices tempted investors to scavenge for cement and steel stocks. Consequently, LUCK, MCLF and DGKC were up 0.17-2.4% while MUGHAL and ISL were up 0.8% and 4% respectively. Total volume increased by 1% to 195m shares as compared to 192m shares of Tuesday while traded value also went up by 11% to Rs 10.5b ($100m). Out of total 350 traded companies in the session, 206 settled in advance, 123 in decline while 21 remained unchanged.
