KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange benchmark KSE-100 index Friday witnessed fluctuation in trading and went to negative zone till midday after shedding 15 points to reach 33196.32 level.
The market recorded the highest trading level of 33247.99 points and lowest level of 33106.04 points, with the volume of 58,811,020 shares, having Rs2.63 billion value. As many as 256 companies were active; of which 141 advanced, 103 declined and 12 remained unchanged.
Commercial banks remained the highest traded sector with total volume of 27,053,800 shares, while oil & gas marketing companies remained second traded sector with a total volume of 12,269,050 shares.
The three top traded companies were B.O.Punjab with a volume of 24,194,000 and price per share of 9.51 (0.32), Sui South Gas with a volume 10,727,500 of price per share of 44.55 (0.62), TRG Pak Ltd with a volume 3,582,000 of price per share of 37.90 (-0.05).
The top three gainers were Exide (PAK) with price per share 922.79 (43.94), Mari Petroleum with price per share of 658.11 (31.33) and Sanofi-Aventis with price per share of 699 (27.78).
The top three losers were Ferozsons (Lab) with price per share of 1118.99 (-14.85), Pak Engineering with price per share of 190 (-6) and MithchellsFruit per share of 400 (-6).
Earlier, the KSE-100 index remained almost flat in early trading and added only 4.71 points to reach 33216.63 level on Friday.
On Thursday, the Karachi stock market closed bullish amid cautious activity on uncertain global equities and commodities. The KSE 100-share index rallied by 191.66 points to close at 33211.92 points. Total volume decreased to 171m shares as compared to 195m shares of Wednesday while traded value stood at Rs8.8b. Of total 347 companies that participated in the session, 171 finished in green, 159 in red, while 17 went unchanged.
